Ravi Kaimal has been the past chairman of the Fabindia School trust where he served for 15 years. Both KCA partners Ravi Kaimal and Sudeshna Chatterjee are deeply passionate about education and school design and have been involved with school trusts.
Ravi is a passionate advocate for the environment and is a founder of the South Delhi based Citizen’s Alliance (CA), which is a collective of citizens who desire to bring about change by impacting urban policy and governance. CA generates awareness among residents about their rights and empowers ordinary citizens to demand an efficient delivery of services, civic amenities and security from the Government.
The group is currently focused in the Greater Kailash-Alaknanda-CR Park Area of South Delhi but continues to draw citizens from across Delhi NCR for its environment focused campaigns.
Sudeshna Chatterjee, founding partner and advisor at Kaimal Chatterjee & Associates, is an internationally regarded urban designer and researcher.
Sudeshna has special expertise in designing children’s environments. Sudeshna is also a globally acknowledge thought leader on child friendly cities. A firm believer in evidence based design, Sudeshna engages in action research involving children and adolescents to generate knowledge and evidence on child friendly cities and communities. She also often uses participatory design techniques in her architectural and planning work.
Given Sudeshna’s special expertise and passion for making living environments child friendly particularly for vulnerable children, KCA incubated the non-profit organization Action for Children’s Environments (ACE) to engage in research, advocacy, planning and design to improve children’s environments globally. Sudeshna serves as the CEO of ACE and has successfully led many evidence-based projects globally for improving children’s living conditions.
